A Hard Day...

Journal Entry: Wed Jan 23, 2013, 3:23 PM

Today was a sad day for me...

My dear and beautiful dog died today and I hope that he found the peace he was searching for these past 2/3 months...since he was already a bit old and had lots of problems...:(

Still is very sad since he was a dog that accompanied me for a large time of my life (around 20 years) and I have a lot of moments that will never be forgotten... He was very dear to me and the last one that I and my family had so far...T_T

I also hope he found a better place... It as hard for us to bury him but we still did it even under the rain...

Rest in Peace "Cigano"! :rose:  I will always love you!

I'm sorry for your loss, hun. It's always hard to lose a family member, because that's what pets are.
He's not suffering anymore. For you the process will be slow, but the pain will go away. I'm sure he's happy knowing you all said goodbye in such a beautiful and unique way ^^
A huge hug for you :tighthug:

Thanks my dear... Yeah, for me pets are the same as humans. ^^ My little hams Sunnie is like a baby for me...I can't just leave him alone or not say a "Hi" everyday accompanied with a lovely caress. C:

I wish the same and I know he's in a better place now. ^^ However, now will be still difficult to have dogs again...><

Both of mine only lived to their 12th years. I can't imagine how it feels after about 20 years. I know right now no words can comfort you. After losing a family member like that words hardily ever can. But you have ear for anything and a shoulder to rest on. I share your belief and hope that his spirit is in a better place.

Awww, thank you my dear!

It's true the fact that living so many years with him is what hurts me more because he was always present there for a lot of times and I still remember how the cutie tried to comfort me everytime I was sad. He loved to play with us and when he started to get old and couldn't walk that much, we were there to give him love... That's why he was really important to me...:'(

But you're right...he's in a better place now and I wish he's in peace...:rose:

You're welcome!

Yeah..I can understand that. My second got excited by the sound of crying. For some reason it was only thing that made her start licking a person. Otherwise she was so stand off-ish. But your angel actually has been reminding me of my first. He was the one I grew up with. Through all my school, moves and fights he was always there. And I actually remember being mad at him for dying before I finished high school.

I'm happy to hear you say such lovely things about him. :huggle:

I thought in getting another one but the pain of losing them is so hard that we preferred to not have another, at least for now...:/ I have a sweet hamster now and so far we'll only stay with him. ><

As for that fact yeah! It was just like mine... My dad bought him when I was still in the 3rd school's class more or less... I was really young... Now I'm 27...:/ So it's really hard to lose him and so I truly understand you, thus is normal to react that way! That's why that any other dog will truly "substitutes" him... If we ever get a new one he'll be loved the same way of course, but there will always a "special" affection for this one...;_;

The same I can say about you! :huggle: It's impossible to not say lovely things about him! He's was a wonderful dog!

Oh :( sorry to hear about your doggy, sweetie, it's just like that, they spend their brief time in life loving you all along, so it's always sad to see them go. Maybe you could give a chance to a new pup to fill the gaph with time. :smooch:

That's why sometimes is harder to loose an animal family member than actually a human being... Dogs live their lives always loving us and never disappointing us so we create a very special bound and when they die, our hearts surely becomes seriously broken...:'(

Thanks a lot dearie...but I wonder if we get another...it's too hard when they die...><

Sorry to hear of your loss but remember your dog will always be happy knowing that he had such an awesome home and owner/s.

I know it is hard when you loss a dear friend but remember he will always be with you, no matter what.

As that saying goes nothing truly dies, they still live on, whether it be by memories or objects or both, either way their spirit lives on.

I hope you feel better soon my friend .

I am sorry for him.
I know what it is to lose somebody so important, especially when he held you company so for a long time. I also lost one of my dogs in December, 2011, and I don't still recover from it. We had saved his life by founding him abandonned, and the disease took him around 8 years later... I forced my parents to cut down his suffering by an injection, and the vet incinerated him, as I didn't wanna see him burried in our garden. (too painfull than the previous dogs we had have)

Now, I try to make that it has with the dog who are still with us (my little baby). He feels alone, the poor boy. They had met each other when the second was a puppy. :'( It also happens from me to talk to him (even if I don't know if he understand me^^)

All we can do is knowing that they're in a better place, peacefull and certainly waiting for us^^ This is what I hope. =)

Awww...that surely hurts a lot...D: When we have another doggie that misses his/her friend which what makes us even more depressed...T_T It happened with this cutie that now died when his friend ran away...

I never wanted to see them being buried but knowing the fact that it's being processed that moment, is what hurts us even more...so sometimes I think I wished to be there to say my last goodbye...D:

But now the best is to be with him even more time than before, to make him to forget about his friend and be happy again. ^^ They always understand us...we think they don't, but they surely do...

Yeah, that's my hope as well...>_<

20 years is such a long time for a dog. The grieving process is slow but remember that he's in a better place & always cherish your memories with him

Indeed... I don't know exactly the time but I made the estimate with the fact that when I changed place we already had him for some time and I'm living at this house now for 18 years, so yeah, more or less... besides we always took good care of him so we're happy that we was with us more time. ^^

It indeed is...but you're right, the memories is now the best treasure we have of him...

Hey...its always hard to loose a member of our animal family...i have already lost lot of them...almost all cats, and its very painful...but this sad moments are compensated by the various years of happiness they give us. You had 20 years of happiness, so dont be sad...he is not suffering anymore. and a burial him at the rain...so dramatic..

He may now take his eternal rest ...

I already lost some other dogs before him as well, but this one was the worst one because he was with me for a very long time...and then my suffering for him...:(

Actually was my dad who did it, but it was surely sad...

However, you're right, we have to move on and the memories will be eternal for sure!
